Statement of Commitment
Corsham Chess Club is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all members, including children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
The welfare of children and vulnerable adults is paramount. Everyone involved with the club has a responsibility to promote their safety and wellbeing.
Safeguarding Officer
The club has appointed a Safeguarding Officer who holds an enhanced DBS check and is responsible for safeguarding matters.

Code of Conduct
All members, volunteers, parents, and visitors are expected to:

Follow club rules and venue requirements.

Report safeguarding concerns immediately.
Children and Young People
Children under the age of 18 remain the responsibility of their parent or guardian unless specifically stated otherwise during a supervised club activity.
Parents should ensure that children are collected promptly at the end of sessions.
Reporting Concerns
Any concerns regarding the welfare of a child, young person, or vulnerable adult should be reported immediately to the Safeguarding Officer.
Where there is an immediate risk of harm, emergency services should be contacted by calling 999.
Photography and Social Media
Photographs of members under 18 will only be used with appropriate parental consent.
Personal information relating to children will never be published without consent.
Confidentiality
Safeguarding concerns will be handled sensitively and confidentially. Information will only be shared with those who need to know in order to protect individuals or comply with legal obligations.
Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if legislation or club circumstances change.
